About Write Your own Manual

A practical way to work with your brain — not against it.

I created Write Your Own Manual for capable professionals who are (or were) doing “fine” on the outside, but paying for it with constant self-adjustment behind the scenes. Write Your Own Manual helps you understand how your brain actually works — and turn that insight into clear, personal instructions you can rely on in real life.

Below, you can read more about Write Your Own Manual and how it came about, and you can read more about me. Or, if you would prefer to meet in person, book a free call and i’ll answer all your questions.

About Write Your Own Manual

I kept seeing the same pattern.
People who were intelligent, committed and experienced — yet exhausted, overthinking, or quietly doubting themselves. Not because they lacked ability or motivation, but because they were trying to function in systems that weren’t built for how their brain works.

There is no shortage of advice. But most advice assumes a generic brain. If yours works differently, those strategies don’t just fall short — they slowly teach you to mistrust yourself.

Write Your Own Manual exists to reverse that. It helps you understand your own patterns, needs and limits, and what helps you function well, be effective, and thrive. The outcome isn’t another system or productivity project, but a clear, personal Manual you can return to when things get busy or messy — something that works with your brain, not against it.

The idea lived in my head for several years. The first full version of the program was developed with the support of Anna Walsh, whose sharp eye and editing prowess helped shape the structure and language of the Manual. Today, the program is delivered and further developed by me.

About me

Judith Klerks, MA

Psychologist & Senior Coach

Hi, I’m Judith (pronounced Yudit) — psychologist, coach, and supervisor — and I work with professionals whose brains don’t quite fit the standard mould.

For over twenty years, I’ve worked in healthcare, education, and leadership development. Across all those settings, one question has consistently mattered more to me than labels or diagnoses: what helps this person function well, sustainably, and with less friction? My work is practical, solution-focused, and grounded in the belief that people are inherently capable — even when their current context makes that hard to see.

Neurodiversity is also part of my everyday life. In my household, ADHD isn’t abstract or theoretical. Combined with my professional background, this has made me a careful translator between neurodivergent realities and neurotypical expectations — for individuals as well as for organisations.

In my coaching, I help clients identify what already works, where energy quietly leaks away, and what can be made clearer, lighter and more effective. I work one-to-one with professionals, and with organisations that want to better support neurodivergent staff — often increasing effectiveness and preventing burnout at the same time.

I’m based in the Netherlands and work internationally, mostly online. All programs are offered in English and Dutch. I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology and am accredited as a Senior Coach and ESIA-accredited Supervisor with the EMCC.

If you’d like to know more about my broader background or other work, you can find that at www.judithklerks.com.
